Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12 November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej or now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. The first gymnast to earn a 10. competing in the Olympics. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci at age six. Later, she would be Romania's gymnastics coach. She first competed in the national junior championships of 1969, finishing 13th. She won the competition in 1970. She took home three golds at her debut competition at a junior Olympic meet in 1972 for communist bloc countries. In 1973 and 1974, she became the junior all-round champion. At her first competitive event at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals, as well being awarded a silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first female to do the backward double salto in an unmounting from uneven parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the entertainment industry began during her teens when she began doing figure skating with her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, in Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a professional as an entertainer in her teens. She began her professional career by performing figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment show Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events that included theatrical performances.
