April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 in seventh grade. She began playing the guitar as well as taking piano lessons which ignited her love for writing songs. The first song she wrote was called Different which she composed at the age of 12. The year she turned 14 was when she was devoted for a long period of time in creating song concepts and practicing her music. The songwriting began along with her dad at home in NY and LA soon after. April was also able to add other themes in the song "Take My Hand" to help her the friends she had who struggled with problems like peer pressure, disabilities, and even teenage suicide. Lockhart has become a sought-after lifestyle blogger and working in partnerships with brands that are clean and healthy like Ilia and YSL, has cultivated an impressive fan base. Since she was born without a left hand, she is an important part of herself. However, it's not the only thing she has to tell. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't ignore her status as disabled and does not focus on it. The message? It is important to remember that each of us has multiple faces. Our identities are varied and we are much more than our bodies. Lockhart said via video that she does not want to be defined by her disability. She does not want to be a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are a variety of aspects to Lockhart. The fact that she is a disability influencer doesn't impact my life. It's all normal, and I've learned how to make adjustments. But it's also a part of me so I think that it's crucial to speak about. Lockhart has been a great example to other women regarding acceptance of oneself. She has had periods where she was uncomfortable the way she dressed and showed her arms. She dresses according to her preferences and posts photos of herself dressed in outfits she chooses on social platforms. Self-love, she says is a journey. It's hard to say if you'll ever reach the final stage. It's a fact that I see common to everyone regardless of what they are struggling with. It is essential to surround yourself with people who can really see the person you are.
